 Local exchange can be arranged

Before you get too far into the listing lets discuss a few important notes:

  • The signs. Under the DHF signs on the outside of the rig there’s ghosting of the bright original white color and a few small stains. My opinion is that it's too noticeable to be unmanaged.  Since DHF makes the signs it’s an easy fix.  As you look at the listing, replace my logo on those signs with yours. After purchase DHF will work with the buyer to digitize their logo and cut new signs to replace mine.  I'll have them bolted up, and in primer on delivery for you to finish in your preferred top coat color or DHF can top coat them in standard colors.

  • It’s extremely important that the buyer be aware that because this rig is white in color it hides a lot of dings and scratches you may not notice in the photos and videos. The dents that are strangely the same height as my truck’s bed corner might be/are mine, but most damage is from a pair of Sandhill Cranes that frequently attack their reflections in the side of the rig and add new dings. Nothing is serious beyond aesthetics, but it's far from perfect outside. If you’re looking for flawless outside this is not the rig for you without refreshing the exterior. It can be done! “Mr. Aluminum” RV panels and google will get you there. Just not a project for me. There are photos of every angle and aspect. A video tour is located at the bottom of the additional info section for your convenience. DHF can also take additional photos if needed. If you’re local, we can arrange for in person inspections.

  • The rear doors were completely rebuilt. Over the years the lower wooden section of the original doors had worn out. Since DHF was doing the rebuild, we installed new interior pressure treated framing and expo marker whiteboard for inside the doors instead of just raw panels. From supply lists, to calendars, to drawing explanations, these doors will be used! I also added lower aluminum cover plates  and extended the trim lip for extra weather resistance. They are snug and fit fantastic.

  • The interior got fresh aluminum in the rear work area. 10 years was a good run for the originals but they needed to be replaced. So new aluminum for you! However,The plastic film that covers the new finish is still on the bottom on one side. My arthritic hands couldn't take it anymore.  Fetch thy apprentice! ; )

  • The interior components are not installed. With exception to the main slide deck/table DHF has not installed the other equipment. The rig will be delivered with the equipment as shown in the photos ready for the buyer to install at their discretion. Most installation holes are already in the deck in multiple locations. You just need to “Choose your own ending” and put it together.

  • 9 years ago the rear shackle of the spring mount pushed through the frame tube. This was repaired by removing the axle and welding 1/2’ thick 52100 carbon steel plates under the spring mount locations on both sides. Overkill? Absolutely, but haven't had to do a thing for it since. Just letting it be known that the weak design was remedied with pure farrier overkill.

  • 4 years ago the undercarriage was repainted. It’s been left as is for the sale. Kind of figured the buyer would rather see the unpainted floor and it doesn’t really need to be redone yet.

  • If you are interested in just the “Guts” we understand, but would like to try and keep the unit together. If the sale drags on and there are no buyers. DHF will consider its options for breaking up the unit at that time.

Details below. Please email us with any questions

Make/Model - 2015 Snapper 5x8 V Nose enclosed trailer  + GFS equipment and tooling + DHF design and fabrication - Clean title - for sale by owner

Axle - 3400lb on 4’’drop - For reference/scale on what stuff weighs. You can fully outfit the deck with equipment, add your anvil/forge/fuel, carry way too many shoes and extras like pads and nails etc.,  and you'll weigh about 2800 lbs. I've pulled it for ten years. You can get it down to 2500lb loaded with less waste, but for the most part I've come across the dump scale enough to say with confidence you can happily and safely live around that 2800lb mark with this rig. Going to a contest? You’ll have enough extra load capacity and the under storage area for gear. Almost like a farrier designed it. ; )

Wheels and Tires - Custom Aluminum Wheels with like new tires(Maybe 2500 miles on them) - 15” wheel height/  4 on 5.5  / easy lube hubs with cover caps. / aluminum fenders/ includes full size spare on modular steel wheel (not in photos but it's just a basic full size trailer wheel and tire).

Hitch/Lights - 2’’ ball with manual crank lift jack. New tow chains. 4 Way light connection. New LED Tail lights and Tag light (“MUCH BRIGHTER, officer.”)  All running lights functioning.

Interior size - 5’x8’ main compartment plus V nose. The total length of the inside is 10’ from nose to rear step.  Just under 5’ wide. The rear work area drop down floor is 18” deep by full trailer width. The underneath storage compartment is open to the rear and allows passing of cargo/bar stock from the rear doors the ful length of the trailer floor.  Interior height is 5’ from floor to ceiling. Rear door opening 4.6’ wide . Side door 24” wide.

Slide table - GFS/2013 4x6 foot slide out table , 2000lb!! slide capacity. extends 4’ of its 6’ with 3 full lock locations.   Steel frame, aluminum top deck with 2’ of steel plate added underdeck at the rear. The trailer has additional internal framing for the slide out and to add strength to the unit. This internal frame servers as both a deck for the slide table and it stiffens the rig. The internal frame runs the full length of the rig and is crossed braced several times. This unifies both walls and floor into one unit. The tracks and bearings have been fully cleaned, inspected, and lubed.  Includes replacement bearings. The originals bearings are perfect, but these replacements came with it so I'm passing them on. Extra insurance for the buyer. One added perk is I have had my equipment mounted all over this thing so there’s probably already holes in place for your various equipment in various locations. It has a removable safety to keep you from over-extending, and can be unloaded easily (when empty) onto saw horses/stands. If it's fully loaded with shoes and equipment you'll want to use a fork lift or a hoist. You can get it out but back in….

Anvil swing arm - GFS/Kodiak aluminum anvil swing arm. You can mount this on either side depending on the layout you decide. Details for the unit itself  are on the Kodiak farrier tools  website and it comes with the truck mount, hitch lock accessories as well. These aren’t needed in the trailer set up but if you decide to switch to a vehicle mount later you will have the necessary stuff for any truck bumper. The anvil corral was added so I could put the rubber under my anvil. It will come set up like this but you can unbolt the rubber corral for the straight frame installation if wanted.

Forge Swing arm - custom forge swingarm. Fits Forgemaster in the rear slots and NCTool Whisper low boy or other  3 burner on the inner frame. Since the inner frame lips are aluminum it’s easy to add a support bracket  for basically any forge without much fabrication.   Aluminum housing  with a steel internal pivot. Slides/extends  16’’ and locks when closed up. Has up to 340 degrees of rotation. Includes several different mounts from different rigs it's been in including the storage rack.

Baldor grinder - This is not your average Baldor. It's an old BG-12. If you  know , you know. ; ) Includes a 10'’  expander wheel and cover. Works perfectly and the expander wheel has no straightness issues. (Can’t get a new rig and not have a Baldor in it!  ; )   )

Tool caddy - original 00’s model Stonewell tool caddy. Aluminum.  (Sorry no shoe rack. It was “well used”. )

Trailer sale videos including undercarriage, inside views and operation demo. Close ups of trouble spots and walk arounds for different angles and distances.
